Renault launches new Captur compact crossover
Built on the Clio/Nissan Juke platform and featuring a compact footprint, the Captur is intended to offer the styling and driving position of an SUV, with the cabin space and practicality of an MPU and the driving characteristics of a compact hatchback.
Benoît Bochard, director of the A/B-segment product range, said: ‘Renault Captur is a compact, unaggressive crossover which is particularly user-friendly. It benefits from Renault genes through and through.’
The Captur features key Clio design features such as the prominent badge on the nose and also includes a steeply raked windscreen and two-tone colour scheme.
Inside, Renault promises MPV features such as a high-up driving position, large boot, modular interior and innovative stowage solutions, as well as impressive kit including hands-free entry, hill start assist and rear parking sensors. It will also offer a new, connected, in-dash Renault R-Link touchscreen multimedia tablet, plus a system that comprises six loudspeakers, Bluetooth connectivity, audio-streaming and Arkamys hi-fi sound.
In line with the Clio platform, Renault also says the model will deliver best-level dynamics with agile handling while petrol and diesel engines will offer best-in-class fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, starting from as low as 96g/km.
