Tual, a specialist in innovation charging solutions for mission-critical fleets, has appointed Alan McCleave as chief revenue officer.

The EV charging and fleet industry leader joins Tual’s senior management team as the business prepares for its next phase of commercial expansion.

McCleave brings more than 30 years’ commercial experience, including senior roles across vehicle leasing, fleet electrification and EV infrastructure.

The former head of Ford Pro Charging, McCleave has also held senior roles at NewMotion (now Shell Recharge) and Wallbox among others. He has worked across AC and DC charging projects for OEMs, fleets and charge point operators (CPOs) across Europe.

His appointment follows Tual’s recent £1.5m funding round, supporting the company’s move from a series of pilot programmes into wider production, field operations and European deployment.

At Tual, McCleave will lead revenue strategy, customer development and market growth, with a focus on helping fleets, infrastructure partners and commercial operators overcome the real-world charging constraints that continue to slow the electric transition.

With more than 20 decades in senior sales roles across the vehicle leasing industry, followed by deep commercial leadership in EV charging infrastructure, McCleave’s career integrates two areas of experience directly relevant to Tual’s next stage of growth.

McCleave said the industry has made huge progress over the past decade, but commercial fleets are now facing the hardest part of the transition.

“Making charging work within the reality of fleet schedules, driver requirements, depot constraints and grid availability is foremost in operators’ minds, and that’s what needs to be delivered without fail.

“Tual is solving a problem that I have seen many operators are already experiencing. The ability to deliver high-power charging in grid-constrained environments is becoming increasingly important for commercial fleets, and I’m looking forward to helping scale a business that is focused on the practical infrastructure layer needed to make electrification work for mission-critical fleets.”
