The firm was founded 12 years ago and has provided fleet management consulting services to hundreds of public and private-sector entities in North America.

In Canada, Mercury’s clients have included companies such as BC Hydro, Bell Canada, EPCOR, Horizon Utilities, National Express Corporation, Shell Canada, and Suncor Energy; local government jurisdictions such as Calgary, Fredericton, Medicine Hat, North Bay, Saint John, Toronto, Vancouver, and Waterloo; and provinces and territories such as Ontario, Saskatchewan, and Yukon.

The firm’s Canadian fleet consulting services will be managed well-known Canadian fleet management professionals, Katherine Vigneau and Bannu Hurtig.

Ms Vigneau recently joined Mercury as a senior manager. Previously, she spent more than 26 years in the Canadian Army, holding various positions in logistics and transportation, both in Canada and abroad, including serving as the Army’s fleet manager, responsible for policy oversight and management of a fleet of over 32,000 vehicles. Just prior to her retirement, she served as the Logistics Section Chief at NATO’s Joint Warfare Center in Stavanger, Norway, where she was responsible for logistics training of NATO forces throughout Europe.

‘We are extremely pleased that two individuals of Kate’s and Bannu’s stature and experience have seen fit to continue their fleet management careers by joining Mercury’s consulting team,’ said Paul Lauria, Mercury’s president. ‘Although we have worked with many clients in Canada over the years, our decision to open a regional office in Ontario reflects the importance that Mercury attaches to the Canadian market and our confidence that these outstanding professionals will enable Mercury to serve our clients in Canada even more effectively in the future.’
