New Kia App merges connectivity, charging and vehicle management

A new Kia App combining connectivity, charging and vehicle management services into a single solution is now out in Europe.

The new app merges the Kia Connect, Kia Charge, MyKia, Kia Warranty Book and Kia Owner’s Manual apps into a single tool

Live now and available to download in markets across Europe, the new app replaces the Kia Connect, Kia Charge, MyKia, Kia Warranty Book and Kia Owner’s Manual apps, which will be phased out in the coming months.

Delivering an all-in-one digital experience, it’s designed with a new front-end for a refreshed, intuitive design tailored to drivers’ everyday needs, while the back-end infrastructure remains “stable and secure” with all customer data still securely hosted in Europe.

Remote vehicle control functionality enables drivers to start the vehicle, adjust the air conditioning or heating, lock and unlock doors, operate windows, lights and the horn, and check the charging status remotely (depending on the model), all via the app.

Navigation tools enable Kia drivers to plan their route within the app including recommended charging stops for EVs. The defined route can then be sent to the in-car navigation. Besides the search for points of interest (POI) and detailed Driving Insights, the driver can additionally use connected car data to generate a driving safety score.

Drivers can also benefit from all the functionalities of Kia Charge, the European charging service with more than 960,000 charge points across 27 European countries. Beside locating and filtering charging stations based on personal need and route planning, charging sessions can be remotely activated and stopped. The app can also manage the Kia Charge contract and tariff, and give access to personal charging history.

The new app also supports maintenance and vehicle management. The owner can directly book a service appointment with a Kia dealer or workshop in the app, access the digital service history as well as the warranty booklet and owner’s manual.

Users can also log into the app with their existing Kia account credentials, enabling all data, personal information and settings to be automatically transferred from the old apps. The platform also enables shared access.

Future functions will offer enhanced solutions for business customers and fleet managers with tools tailored to Kia’s upcoming PV5 electric van – the first in its new Platform Beyond Vehicle line-up. Additional services, such as flexible mobility solutions via Kia Drive, are also currently in development.
