Polestar’s massive three-year plan: Four new models including an electric estate
Polestar is going all guns blazing with a major new offensive that will deliver four new cars in the next three years.

New arrivals will include an estate version of the Polestar 4 SUV-coupé and a new-gen Polestar 2 fastback
The new arrivals will double the Swedish EV performance brand’s line-up and will include an estate version of the Polestar 4 SUV-coupé and a new-generation Polestar 2 electric fastback.
First to arrive from the Geely-owned premium EV maker will be the Polestar 5 four-door Grand Tourer (GT) presented in 2025, with deliveries expected from this summer.
The fourth vehicle in the brand’s current line-up alongside the Polestar 2, 3 and 4, the 5 teams up Scandinavian design with all-electric drive and supercar levels of performance that deliver up to 884hp and 1,015Nm.
Michael Lohscheller, Polestar CEO, said the 5 would serve as a halo car, bringing “a new level of performance and luxury to the grand-tourer segment”.
“With incredible handling and a lightweight bonded aluminium platform, the four-door GT has already received fantastic reviews, as part of its launch tour across Europe.”
This will be followed by an estate version of the Polestar 4 – the brand’s current best-seller – based on same great technology, but targeting a wider customer base by offering more versatility. It launches later this year, with deliveries expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Lohscheller said: “With this car, Polestar will once again set new standards. Sweden is famous for its estate cars, and its SUVs are world-class. We are combining the space of an estate and the versatility of an SUV with the dynamic performance that is Polestar.”
Next year will bring the arrival of the all-new Polestar 2 fastback, due early 2027.
The brand’s chief executive said: “Polestar 2 is the foundation of our brand, with over 190,000 cars sold and an enthusiastic community of customers. Bringing the next generation of this iconic car in record speed, by the start of next year, is very exciting. The car that we became known for will play a key role of our future success.”
Lastly, the Polestar 7 compact premium SUV lands in 2028 and marks the company’s entrance into the largest EV segment in Europe, which accounts for around one-third of total BEV volumes in 2025.
“We are convinced that we can offer customers a progressive performance-driven car for a very attractive price point, built in Europe,” said Lohscheller.
Polestar’s new model plans drop ahead of the brand’s full-year results for 2025.
Lohscheller said the firm had seen its best sales year ever, despite a challenging geopolitical and economic environment, and added that the newcomers would ensure it continues to challenge the automotive industry by entering fast-growing and high value segments in record speed.
“We are targeting the heart of the EV market, where customer demand and profit pools are high. Combined with our continued retail sales network expansion and a growing customer base, we are setting the foundations for profitable growth and operational improvement.”
He added: “2025 was a year of continuous operational progress and delivery. With our attractive model line-up, strong shareholder support and partners with access to the latest technology, Polestar is set to become one of the winners of the automotive industry’s transformation.”
The company also announced that with “a disciplined approach”, in 2026 it expects low double-digit volume growth and a continued retail network expansion of 30%.
The sales mix is expected to continue to evolve with an increasing share of Polestar 4. Further, the company aims to focus more on the retail channel, supported by the continued expansion of the network and its model line-up, to drive quality sales growth.
