Shell’s first fast chargers go live in Singapore

Shell New Energies subsidiary Greenlots has started the installation of fast chargers in Singapore as part of wider global plans to expand access to EV charging globally.

All 10 fast charging sites will go live at Shell service stations in Singapore in the coming months

The project – which is the first joint work carried out by the firms following Shell New Energies’ acquisition of the EV charging network provider earlier this year – will see Greenlots deployed 10 DC fast charge EV charging locations in Singapore at Shell service stations in the coming months, aimed in particular at fleet operators as well as private EV drivers.

As well as marking a homecoming for Greenlots, which was founded in Singapore in 2008 but is now headquartered in Los Angeles, the project forms part of Greenlots’ broader strategy to provide EV charging solutions across all applications throughout Asia and North America.

“Greenlots and Shell have been exploring synergies since we were acquired earlier this year,” said Brett Hauser, CEO of Greenlots. “This project demonstrates our collective commitment to enable electrified transportation around the world, specifically in Singapore where Greenlots was founded, and bolsters Greenlots’ expansion in Southeast Asia. Supporting Shell’s EV charging network in Singapore is a logical extension of the work we’ve been doing there to provide charging solutions at home, at work, for fleets and on-the-go and reinforces Greenlots’ status as a global leader in the EV charging industry.”
