Targa Telematics ranked top for digital mobility services by Berg Insight
Targa Telematics has secured Berg Insight’s top ranking in digital mobility services for rental and leasing companies in Europe.
The latest edition of the Telematics for Rental and Leasing Fleets research underscores that Targa leads the European ranking with 762,000 connected units in the rental and leasing segment, reaffirming its position as the most active service provider in the sector.
The report also forecasts a steep rise in telematics uptake among European rental fleets as the European rental and leasing market, which generates over €15bn (£12.6bn) in revenues and encompasses companies with nearly two million vehicles, continues its rapid shift towards more digital, connected and sustainable mobility models.
Berg Insight forecasts telematics usage in European rental fleets to grow from 37.2% in 2023 to 68.8% by 2028, driven by embedded technologies, AI-based innovation and evolving mobility use cases.
Targa Telematics supports its clients in this transition, drawing on more than 20 years of experience and delivering advanced digital platforms to help rental operators enhance operational efficiency, safeguard vehicle assets and unlock new mobility models. Its technologies include proprietary AI models to enable predictive services that prevent theft and misuse, supported by a 24/7 operations centre for rapid vehicle recovery and roadside assistance.
Targa’s modular platform enables the combination of technologies such as microservices, ensuring rental companies can fully digitalise key internal processes and create new services, including corporate car sharing through proprietary keyless access, supported by first- and second-line helpdesk services.
Massimiliano Balbo di Vinadio, vice president sales LA at Targa Telematics, commented: “The added value of our technology lies in the combination of long-standing industry expertise, powerful AI-based analytics and the ability to unify data from diverse sources into a single, actionable platform. This allows us to support our clients in making faster, smarter and more sustainable decisions, accelerating their transformation towards intelligent mobility.”
The report also highlights the growing importance of OEM data integration in delivering scalable and efficient fleet solutions.
Targa Telematics already collaborates with leading automotive brands, including Stellantis, Volkswagen/Audi/Škoda/SEAT, Ford, BMW/Mini, Mercedes-Benz, Renault, Kia, Toyota and Tesla. Its direct data links enables seamless, cross-brand fleet management and helping clients overcome the technical and regulatory complexity of multi-source data environments.
