Škoda has officially unveiled the Peaq, a near-5m electric SUV designed to spearhead the brand’s move into the premium EV space.

Debuted in camouflage form ahead of its launch later this year, the appropriately named Peaq provides a new range-topper for the Czech brand’s EV line-up, sitting above the upcoming Epiq as well as the Elroq and Enyaq, playing a key role in doubling Škoda’s electric model range in 2026.

Drawing on the Vision 7S concept shown in 2022, the Peaq expands the brand’s electric portfolio at the upper end, offering up to seven seats, more than 600km (372 miles) of range and a wide array of comfort and relaxation features to position the cabin as a “lounge on wheels”.

Built on the Volkswagen Group’s Modular Electrification Toolkit (MEB) platform also used for the brand’s other EVs, it’s the largest Škoda model yet and comes with the most capacious boot in the brand’s current portfolio, providing 299 litres of space or 890 litres of boot space with the third row of seats folded down. An additional 37-litre frunk further expands the luggage capacity, and the Peaq is also topped off with the largest panoramic roof ever in a Škoda.

Three powertrain variants will be available – the 60, 90 and 90x. These will deliver power ranging from 204hp to 299hp. The 90 and 90x variants offer the headline range of more than 600km and can be charged from 10 to 80% capacity via DC fast charging in 28 minutes. The 60 variant cuts this to 27 minutes.

Škoda also promises outstanding driving dynamics and rapid acceleration: the all-wheel-drive 90x variant sprints from 0 to 100km/h in 6.7 seconds.

The Peaq also supports vehicle-to-load (V2L), allowing energy stored in the high-voltage battery to charge and power external electrical devices such as e-bikes or caravans, while a new Ambibox DC wallbox by Volkswagen Group brand Moon Power will allow Škoda electric models to make use of vehicle-to-home (V2H) bidirectional functionality.

Design includes Škoda’s TechDeck Face illuminated glossy black front panel replacing the traditional grille, housing sensors and LED backlighting, and the option of premium full LED Matrix headlights incorporating 18 light segments. Aerodynamically optimised allow wheels range from 19 to 21 inches.

The Peaq also debuts several notable features for the brand, including flush door handles that are also equipped for mechanical activation by pressing the marked front section of the handle.

The panoramic sunroof comes with ‘Dynamic Shade Control’ using a nine-stage electrochromic system that eliminates the need for mechanical blinds. Occupants can choose from three predefined positions or configure the roof manually via the infotainment display.

The interior features the latest Android-based infotainment system, offering extensive personalisation options and a wide range of apps – both native Škoda apps and third-party services such as Spotify, YouTube and Google Maps. A new digital mobile key also makes its debut, allowing the conventional key to be replaced by a smartphone or a smartwatch application. Essential driving information is presented on a 10-inch driver display, supplemented by a 13.6-inch vertical infotainment display with haptic controls.

Other tech debuts for the brand include a Relax Package featuring ergonomic seats with a massage function, leg rests, Premium Sound by Sonos and an integrated wellness app.

The Peaq reinforces Škoda’s reputation for practical innovation with several model-first ‘Simply Clever’ features. These include an efficient integrated-washer wiper system for optimal visibility and a high-performance 25W Dual Phonebox with wireless charging (Qi.2 standard) for rapid mobile charging. The cabin’s functional layout is rounded out by an electric luggage roller shutter, a foldable workstation and a high-power USB port in the third row.

Another practical touch is the QR code on the side of the luggage compartment. Scanning it launches a video that demonstrates the practical storage solutions available in the boot.

Five interior designs, including Sportline, will be available.

The Škoda Peaq enters a growing segment of seven-seat electric SUVs, squaring up to the Kia EV9, Volvo EX90 and Hyundai Ioniq 9.

CEO Klaus Zellmer said the Peaq “raises the Škoda brand to a new level: more spacious, more practical, and more attractive for everyday explorer”.

“Peaq brings a new sense of scale, smart functionality and progressive design to the large electric SUV segment, setting a benchmark for what a modern Škoda can be. With its efficient electric drivetrain and focus on sustainable mobility, it blends practicality, emotion and responsibility to create a new feeling of freedom on the road. And as customers expect from Škoda, it delivers all of this with a uniquely balanced, value‑driven approach,” he added.
