Chinese car brand Xpeng has officially unveiled the L03 ahead of the AI-powered smart SUV-coupé’s UK arrival in 2027.

Debuted simultaneously across 65 markets at a special brand event in Munich, the L03 is the focal point of Xpeng’s expanding ‘Physical AI’ ecosystem.

It’s positioned as a ‘Next-Gen AI SUV Coupé’ and brings together four defining characteristics: supercar-inspired design, premium cabin comfort, flexible practicality and intelligent driving designed for global roads.

Designed by a former Ferrari chief exterior designer and positioned as a direct competitor to the Tesla Model Y, it serves as a highly advanced ‘technology for all’ vehicle. Powertrain specifications are yet to be finalised, but the L03 will be offered with both pure electric (BEV) and range-extender hybrid (REEV) configurations, with prices expected to start from under €40,000.

The sleek aesthetic features a fastback silhouette, frameless doors and a wide-body stance that achieves a claimed class-leading drag coefficient of 0.228.

Inside, the cabin gets a 15.6-inch central display, a head-up display, immersive ambient lighting and intelligent climate control.

Designed for practicality, the vehicle offers flexible lounge-style seating, 37 distinct storage spaces, “generous” cargo capacity and up to 1,500kg towing capability.

The L03 will feature Xpeng’s Next Generation Pilot (NGP) automated driving technology, which it plans to progressively roll out in Europe from 2027. Unlike conventional ADAS systems that focus on individual driving assistance functions, Xpeng tells us that NGP is designed to understand and navigate highly complex real-world driving scenarios, bringing intelligent driving closer to how humans perceive and respond to the road. To process this human-like thinking, the L03 is also powered by triple Turing AI Chips that deliver up to 2,250 TOPS computing power.

Beyond intelligent driving capabilities, the L03 debuts the international version of Xpeng’s New Global Intelligent Cockpit Experience with XOS 6. This is based around a next-generation AI voice assistant that’s been rebuilt to support more natural conversations for a more intuitive experience. The new capabilities will be introduced to users through future over-the-air updates.

Alongside intelligent vehicles, Xpeng continues to expand its Physical AI ecosystem across robotaxis, humanoid robots and flying vehicles. As part of this vision, the brand plans to introduce its humanoid robot, Iron, to global markets from 2027 and begin operational testing of its robotaxi platform, while exploring future partnerships with global partners to support the development of autonomous mobility services in Europe and beyond.
